A man identified as AbdulMalik Muhammed Tanko, allegedly kidnapped a 5-yr-old girl, identified as Hanifa Abubakar, in Kano.

It was gathered that the suspect kept her captive for 46 days before taking her life. It was alleged that Tanko took the little girls life despite collecting part of six million naira ransom he demanded.
Tanko allegedly cut the childs body into pieces and pack inside a sack. Her remains were found earlier today and have been buried according to Islamic rites.
Her uncle, Suraj Suleiman, confirmed the killing and recovery of her remains at a mushroom private school in Tudun-Wada area in the State.
According to him, the abductor first took her to his wife, but the wife rejected to keep her.
He then took her to Tudunwada where he operates a private school, and then laced her tea with rat poison, her uncle said.
After she was poisoned to death, the kidnappers then cut her body into pieces and buried it within the school.

The abductors were arrested around Zaria Road in Kano last night while attempting to collect the second tranche of the ransom.
The 5-yr-old was whisked away on December 4, 2021, by the kidnappers, who came in a commercial tricycle and lured her to enter for a joyride.
The incident occurred at 5 p.m. when she and other neighbourhood children were returning from an Islamic school.
The State’s Police Command, in an issued statement yesterday, said the school teacher, Abdulmalik Tanko, was the one who abducted and killed her.
